Let’s take a second before we all drift of to bed to discuss the Format. Definitely an indie-pop favorite of mine, and many others. The coupling of Arizona natives, Nate Ruess and Sam Means, makes for some incredible music. With their distinct voices and upbeat sounds, the Format gained major popularity in the early 2000s. I have shared with you all at this late hour, “The First Single (You Know Me).” Undeniably, it claims the title as my favorite Format song - although “She Doesn’t Get It” comes in a close second. “The First Single (You Know Me)” was first featured in the Format’s debut EP in 2002, and later again on Interventions and Lullabies in 2003.
